They are made with moire, bengaline taffeta. Bengaline is a taffeta with a bolder line surface than faille taffeta. The eight panels used to make the zucchetto are precisely top stitched as is the bottom edge. It is lined with high quality, medium weight, white, pre-shrunk, 100% linen, also made with 8 panels. There is a twisted stem of white or grey piping (stirpis) at the outside top. A small cross made with embroidery thread is sewn at the inside center crown (as described in books tracing the zucchetto's history). Please email me if you want the grey or white style.
