Description: Zeiss Ikon Contessa - 35mm Rangefinder Film Camera - 45mm f/2.8 Tessar Lens (1950-55) Serial Number: A25660 The Zeiss Contessa is a gorgeous camera that is a pleasure to shoot. It’s actually rather simple to operate and is capable of producing beautiful images with a fast Zeiss Tessar lens. This camera is in beautiful condition and has been film-tested. The results were excellent and sample images have been provided. The lens is clean and clear (no fungus or separation) and the viewfinder is excellent. The split-image for focusing is very strong and shows great contrast. (Includes original case and the often-missing tripod socket cover.) The light meter does NOT work. The selenium cells in these cameras run down over time and cannot be replaced. I have only seen one or two of these cameras with a working meter. Free light meter apps do an excellent job so there’s no issue for shooting. The slow shutter speeds (1/10th - 1 sec) are sticky but may improve with a bit of exercise. The faster speeds appear and sound correct. All the negatives from the test-roll were exposed correctly which is strong evidence that the speeds (1/25th - 1/500) are within reasonable limits.
