Due to its lower than average astringency, this date is unique in its edibility during all three stages of ripeness: semi-ripe, fully ripe and dried wrinkled. It is usually eaten fresh and seldom in the final dried, wrinkled stage. Best outdoors if grown in zone 9a-11, container suitable for patio or indoors. This Palm requires 80-100% sunlight.
