Radom (Fabryka Broni Radom - Weapons Factory Radom) Model: M1930 Blade Length:9.75" Serial #:7 (Appears to be a low serial number) TEXT GOES HERETEXT GOES HERE --> Offered here is a WWII era Polish Mauser Wz. 29 rifle M1930 Radom bayonet and scabbard. The rifle and bayonet were based on the German K98AZ rifle of the time. It is basically a modified copy of the K98 bayonet. The marking on the one side has "W.P." which is Wojsko Polskie (Polish Army). This is a rare example with a muzzle ring. Only the pre-war M1930 versions had the complete ring. Later when the Germans occupied Poland, they cut off the ring and refinished in black. This was refinished in black but the ring was not touched. This is a neat piece of Polish history. Overall, this bayonet is in Good - Very Good condition, considering its age and history. The press catch is functional with stiff spring tension. Both the pommel and guard are securely fastened to the tang. They both have light scrapes and oxidation. The remaining finish has started to turn a gray patina color. The escutcheon screws securely fasten the grips. They have light oxidation, tool marks and strong slots. There is a little bit of grit inside the slots. The left grip panel has a chip near the guard. There are compressions, draglines and scrapes on both panels. The wood has started to darken with age. The spine has light scattered oxidation. The fullers and sides have a couple light scrapes. The blade edge has no nicks or dings and appears to have its original factory edge. The tip is intact and comes to a sharp straight point. The blade was originally in the white, but was refinished by the Germans during WWII. The left side ricasso is marked with the Polish double headed eagle proof mark and "W.P.", the right ricasso "F.B. RADOM" and the left guard has the serial number "7". The scabbard is in Fair - Good condition, considering its age and history. The frog stud is securely fastened and has oxidized. The metal locket and chape have impact marks, oxidation and scrapes. Both are securely attached to the leather body but the locket does have a little wiggle room. The leather is dried out, but there are no rips or tears. The stitching is sewn tightly and the coloring is still intact. The back of the locket is marked with the serial # "9309". There are no other visible markings. This bayonet and scabbard will be a great addition to your Polish Wz. 29 rifle, or a bayonet collection in general. As with all used items, a light cleaning may be necessary to meet your standards.
