Description: This is an extremely fine First World War German 1914 Iron Cross for Non-Combatants that is in excellent condition. The stove black finish to the iron center of this cross is pristine and unblemished. The crown, letter “W” cypher and the ‘1914’ date, and the ‘FW’ oak leaves and ‘1813’ date on the reverse are with virtually all the black finish and extremely well detailed. The raised serrated bead running around the outside of the cross is nicely detailed. There is no separation to the frame, and it is now with an attractive age toned patina. The jumper ring for the ribbon is marked ‘S.W.’ for the firm of Sy-Wagner, Berlin. The cross is suspended from a piece of original white ribbon with black side stripes that does not glow under black light. A truly fine-looking cross in excellent, undamaged condition. 9017
