Description: Original WW2 (1941) German NORTH AFRICA map entitled "BIR BERESSOF" (Tunisia). There are several images online of SAS units operating in this area. It is marked "NUR FĂR DEN DIENSTGEBRAUCH " - the equivalent of a "RESTRICTED" designation for British military maps. The map was reproduced by the Germans from an earlier French map and the lower right corner bears a printing date of November 1941. This map is one of a large collection acquired from a single source which consists of numerous Allied maps used in the field, alongside dozens of captured German examples retained as souvenirs from Italy and North Africa.
