Description: This listing is for one wu zhu coin, produced during the Han dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD). Size: 25 mm // 2.75 g Wu Zhu (五銖) copper coin from the Han Dynasty 206 BC - 220 AD. The obverse of the coins reads [from right to left] 銖五 (zhu wu) meaning “5 zhu”, zhu being a unit of weight equal to 100 grains of millet. The reverse of the coin has no markings. Wu Zhu coins started being cast (not minted) in 118 BC during the Han Dynasty, but continued to be produced for hundreds of years well after the demise of the Hans, until 618 AD when the Tang Dynasty introduced the Kaiyuan Tongbao cash coins. Even after that date though, Wu Zhu coins continued in circulation. Please check the pictures to see the condition of the coin for yourself, sold as is. So please please please before doing anything read, watch videos, multiple if necessary as different people can have different opinions and most importantly the coins are not the same (just because cleaning one kind of bronze coins in a specific way is ok, it doesn’t mean it will be fine for all bronze coins and so on). So just be careful. As for storage, there are many good options available, just try to keep in mind that whatever you end up choosing should be acid-free and pvc-free, as normal paper and plastic have chemicals on the surface which can and will damage coins and banknotes if they stay in contact for a long time.
