Description: ABOUT THIS CARD: Vintage to circa 1916 M.J. Moriarty movie star playing card featuring silent film star William Duncan. Completists check your decks: this is one of four different 6 of Clubs cards I've seen with a different William Duncan pose or one of two different Ruth Stonehouse poses featured on the card in other decks. (this sale is for the pictured William Duncan card only). Standard-sized playing card, measures approximately 2-1/2" X 3-1/2" with reverse side depicting a chariot scene, issued by the Movie Souvenir Card Co. out of Cincinnati, OH, and copyright 1916 by MJ Moriarty. The deck this card comes from was issued in several variations likely over a period of a few years beginning at the 1916 copyright date (through about 1920). From one of my favorite sets, I've seen well over 100 different cards from this 53 card set. This sale is for the single card in the title and shown above. DETAILED GRADING - CONDITION: Grades G-VG or 3.5/10 with some surface creases by the bottom right corner; edge wear. Both sides of actual card for sale are shown.
