Description: Wesley Willis Chicago Wicker Park/Burger King 1482 N. Milwaukee Ave. Color is vibrant. Edges show slight wear, item has been stored since 1992. This was sold to me by Wesley in 92'. Wesley would pop into our family owned Burger King on 1482 N. Milwaukee Ave in Wicker Park on a weekly basis. He would sit outside on a metal chair and draw the scenery. I attended one of his first gigs at the Love Loft across the street. One of the most popular neighborhoods in Chicago where Willis spent most of his early days jamming and meeting people on the street. You can see the Love Loft on the left upper side, El Chino Tacos no longer exist, the building was torn down, the Burger King 1977-2007, was torn down in 2009, Saltwater Fisheries is where the Bongo Room is now, the building next to La Mena Travel was once a drug dealer's bar and later became Holiday Club then Salud, Chicago Bulls on the CTA bus and more. This particular piece is signed twice. I have yet to see any other drawings of Wesley's this way. View the center of the drawing for the second autograph. Please check other items for his Wicker Park drawings and memorabilia. Price reflects the rarity of this item. The Love Loft is where it all began for Wesley Willis, many of the businesses no longer exist in this historical neighborhood.
