Description: Magnificent vintage French cotton from about the 1950's designed by Suzanne Fontan, Paris. I have always been so fond of her work and it is quite desirable & collectible, considered more of a higher end vintage textile designer. Wonderful quality and always unique patterns of their period. This is a lovely Indienne type botanical floral done in soft pleasing shades of soft tender time softened buttery yellow gold & what dark brown on a whitish/slightly off white ground. It is a mid density cotton intended primarily for furnishings. The scale is somewhat larger in size. Perfect for anything from pillows, table pieces & an abundance of home pieces to bags etc..I think decorative light upholstery would also be lovely. I imagine you could use it in patchwork depending on your quilting style (applique, machine vs. hand etc..) ~**Condition is overall very nice for it's age. Used. There is some aging to the outer edges and some of the selvedge on several panels is worn but the fabric itself is very strong. Again, the colors are mellow so has a very nice time spent nuance. ~**Measures aprox 34" wide by 33" long ~ I can keep up to a quantity of "3" in one length uncut (so up to 99" inches in length can be sent in one piece as I am working with several panels of this textile). Many thanks! ?
