Description: Astonishingly beautiful vintage yo yo quilt or coverlet composed of hundreds of yo yos hand stitched together in a window pane pattern and affixed to a pale mustard yellow solid backing fabric. This came from the collection of a California historical society and is one of the prettiest examples of the craft I've seen. It likely dates to the 1930s-1950s period. The fabric used is somewhat rough, so likely the yo yos were made from feedsack. Measures 79" x 83", big enough to generously cover a twin sized bed. CONDITION: GOOD (Poor-->Fair-->Good-->Very Good-->Excellent-->Mint): This quilt has been very gently washed, but a few stains remain, mostly on the back - I've pictured the largest ones, but there are others. When this quilt came to me, there were a number of popped yo yos; I have repaired the ones that were totally busted, but a few partially opened ones remain. In addition, a few of the yo yos have separated from their neighbors. This would require only a few quick stitches to fix if they bother you. Finally, as this was lovingly hand made, there are a few sewing imperfections, the most noticeable of which is that one long side is a bit shorter than the other, giving that side a bit of a kink along the edge. No visible flaws or wear. All parts/pieces intact. Excellent - Has been used and/or may have very minor noticeable flaws that do not detract from the use or aesthetics of the item. All parts/pieces intact. Very Good - Light wear and/or noticeable flaws that may warrant optional repairs, but can still be used as intended. May be missing parts/pieces, but doesn't impact use. Good - Visible wear with flaws that may warrant repairs before being used as intended. May be missing parts/pieces, but doesn't impact use. Fair - Numerous flaws and/or especially fragile. Likely needs to be repaired before being used as intended. May be missing parts/pieces that impact use. Poor - Extensive damage. Cannot be used as intended without repair. To be used for parts, repair, display or as photo props only. Missing parts/pieces that impact use. I aim to please, and describe every item to the best of my ability. But please note that my vintage items often received frequent use back in their day, so may show visible signs of wear and age. Personally, I wouldn't have it any other way, as I treasure those marks of the past.
