Description: Vintage Yashica TL Electro-X Film Camera w/ Accessories, Case & Documentation Recently, I visited my mother and we visited a storage shed where she stored items from an uncle who passed away. While searching through the items, I found a special case inside which contained the following camera:Yashica TL Electro-X 35mm with shoulder strapExtra Lense for the camera - Auto Yashinon-DX 1:2.8 f=28mm Yashica Japan No. 2881701 in a separate case to specifically hold this lense. Original price sticker still on it.Vivitar 91 Electronic FlashIn the flap, there were the following documents:Yashica TL Electro-X Instruction BookletHow to take better pictures with your Yashica bookletYashica - Yashinon-DX Lenses - Instruction BookletVivitar Electronic Flash - Dealer's Sales RecordInternational Service Centers (Dated effective 9/1/70)Vivitar Certificate of WarrantyVivitar Electronic Flash - Model 91 Owner's ManualNOTE: The photos also show a Warranty Certificate: Yashica Inc. Expires 9/25/72. This certificate is being kept for family reasons. This camera was originally owned by my grandfather, and was later given to his son, my uncle. The camera had apparently seen light usage, as the case and all the equipment inside were in generally excellent condition. Inspection of the camera found it to be absolutely sound and completely intact. No damage, corrosion or rust. The interior compartment for the film is clean and smooth. All the parts were tested and responded. All of them work. The only part that wasn't tested was the battery compartment, which uses a 6 volt battery. Although there was no corrosion, I did not have the proper battery available at the time. According to information I was able to obtain, the Yashica TL Electro-X was introduced back in 1968, and continued until 1974, which matches up with the warranty card that showed my grandfather's warranty expired in September of 1972. It was an updated version of the Yashica TL, which was first introduced in 1967, and although it is over 50-plus years old, the camera still functions perfectly. When testing, the shutter functioned properly and after multiple shots, the automatic film rewind feature worked properly as well. With the proper film, this camera would be able to take photos even today! With the instruction manual, which is included, you could easily master this camera and take some really beautiful photos, and with the extra lense which is included, you can swap it out for other shots. If you need a flash for dim lighting, the Vivitar Model 91 plugs into the side of the camera and is ready to go. Finally, once you're finished, you can put the camera, lenses and flash back into the case, which has snap-tight straps to hold the camera in place for transport! It truly is a beautiful camera from a time before digital cameras and smart phones with embedded camera lenses. This is the kind of camera a news reporter might use, or for someone who wants to take lots of personal photos. What is amazing was the condition the camera was in after what must have been decades of storage. When checking in the box with the camera, I discovered film ends listing the expiration dates of the film, which were from 1988, so the last film that went into this camera and was used was from the late 1980's! Shipping for this beautiful camera will be via US Ground Advantage mail to keep costs as low as possible. Hopefully, it will go to a good home where someone will appreciate it as much as my uncle did back when he used it. Good Luck!
