Description: This unusual vintage sterling silver ashtray was manufactured in London, UK and shows makers initial of FRT & Co. (not been able to identify). The unusual shaped piece was made to commemorate the Coronation of HM King George VI in 1937. In the base of the tray there is a raised Kings Cypher 'GviR' with Coronation -1937 below. It has a large Royal crown at one end with a scoop out of the other end to rest a cigar (or cigarette). A nice bold hallmark is seen on one side indicating, London 1937. Stamped on the underside is 'Made in England'. It measures 4-5/8" in length x 2-1/4" wide x 3/4" tall. Total Silver weight is 66g. It comes in excellent condition with no dents or damage.
