Description: This is an original vintage (mid 20th century) atomic style floor lamp with large glazed pottery piece topped with wire and ball atomic sculpture and torchiere socket. Screwed into the top is a milk glass torchiere shade with original off white fiberglass lamp shade featuring black squiggle pattern and gold finial on top. The socket requires a larger mogul base bulb, or an adapter could be screwed into the socket to allow the use of a standard bulb (not included.) Condition is very good. The lamp is fully functional, and is sturdy, solid, and stands up straight. There is some minor, light wear to all surfaces from age and use, but the gold finish on the base shows heavier wear. There are no cracks, repairs, or other major damage, and the pottery piece is near-mint. The shade is 100% complete with no missing stitching or loose areas, but there are a few very shallow dents and a small strip of glue along the bottom where it was separated (only visible upon close inspection of the inside). The cord and plug are in good condition, but there was a button switch added to the base that was spliced into the original wiring and secured with wire nuts. The lamp stands 60 1/2" H and measures 18" across the shade and 11 1/2" across the base. The shade will be shipped in a separate box to avoid damage. The lamp will be partially disassembled and all pieces will be packed securely and fully insured during shipping.
