Description: Welcome all you Hot Wheel enthusiasts....and fellow kids at heart...... This vintage hot wheel matchbox car lot consists of 40 cars total the 4 cars that are showcased on the black base plus the third car left front from white middle car were all purchased at the original 'Toys R Us ' store and I believe they are not matchbox or hot wheel...they are bigger in scale and nicely detailed....plus there are 40 original orange hot wheel connecting track....the huge plastic hot wheel car is 9 inches long and 3 inches wide....it takes batteries on the bottom....but it was never used over the years....it has just been on display....I does not run...all cars have been on display only and never played with...all cars are mint out of package.....and the track is also mint never used......this is just a super nice set for your kid...or just for the kid in you.........okay all you hot wheel enthusiasts out there in the fast lane.....who out there can tell me what was the first hot wheel car offered to the public...well.....c'mon now.....six letters....ends in...."O"..........any hands going up out there in ebay land...?....that's right folks.....none other than the custom CAMARO......sold on may 18 , 1968......boy would I love to trade in my classic 2000 toyota camry for a 68 CAMARO any day of the weeek....it was part of the sweet 16 set.....so...The first line of Hot Wheels die cast cars introduced were called "The Sweet 16".....and made their debut at the International Toy Fair in 1968...The Sweet 16 were 16 cars whose designs were inspired by California muscle cars and hot rods...and the first Hot Wheels toy car offered was the custom Camaro sold on May 18th 1968...which is Hot Wheels official birthday....and in case your wondering....what were the other 15 Hot Wheel cars in that historic first line of die cast wonders....don't worry folks ...no quiz here....I will give you the answer....Following the custom CAMARO....the other 15 cars in the line were The Beatnick Bandit...the custom Barracuda...the custom Corvette...the custom Cougar...the custom Eldorado....the custom Firebird...one of my favorites......I used to see this car all over the road back in the late 70's early 80's....loved the black firebird with the gold front hood eagle....nice....and the Firebird also appears in one of my favorite Stallone line of pictures...Rocky II.....Rocky gets a taste of having spending cash and buys a nice Pontiac street ride.....check it out folks on you tube ...good movie.....okay...back to the line up.....next was the custom Fleetside....the custom Mustang....the custom T-Bird....the custom Volkswagen.....the Deora now called Dodge Deora Concept....the Ford J-Car.....the Hot Heap...the Python now called Cheetah....and the Silhouette........Hot wheel went on to influence car culture and real world car design.......not only that...these rollin bad boys are super cool rollin down your mothers hard wood floors.....c'mon tell me that wasn't the best of times........best always fellow collectors
