The Sound Head is driven by a sync interlock motor which also drives a Selsyn motor driving the shutter. Thus both the shutter and mechanical mechanism are interlocked to assure sync with 60 cycle line frequency. This along with the Brenker/RCA were one of the first commercially successfully produced 35mm film projectors for the Television transmission of 35mm Optial Sound film. A number of different units had been made previously going back to the 1930's but most if not all were one off custom made units. This machine dates from the late 1940/Early 1950's and is a standard production model.
