Description: This Vintage Drey Mason Jar is an early company later bought up by the Ball Brothers . The jar has a clear glass body that was cleared with manganese with a sloped shoulder seal and a period correct Genuine Boyd zinc lid. It has a capacity of 1/2 gallon and is marked with the #1. Red Book reference #841-1. The jar is an original piece from the early 1900s and has a rich history as an early company that came up with many great designs including the Perfect Mason. It is a great piece for display or for history of early fruit jars. This clear pre WW-I jar was cleared during manufacture with manganese. If exposed to UV rays in sunlight it will turn purple on you. It would be a unique storage solution and would make a wonderful gift for any antique enthusiast.
