Description: Vintage Coal Miners Cap With Auto-Lite Brass Lantern. This is a really neat item. We are guessing that it was used in the coal mines in Southern Iowa, North of Albia as this came from an estate sale in that area. The lantern has the dial broken off as you can see. I will make sure the piece comes along with it and maybe you might be able to get it re-attached. The cap still has some coal dust on it as I tried to clean it up but there is still some there. This is quite a history piece as Iowa is said to have had over 6000 mines throughout time. None are in existence today.
