Description: Vintage Chicago Hardware cast iron deep hammered chicken fryer. Lid and bottom matching set, both marked. Restored, no cracks or chips. Irregular finish inside and on bottom, please see pictures. Sits flat, which is somewhat unusual for a fryer without a heat ring. Deep hammered surface is harder to find than the shallow hammered version the Chicago Hardware Foundry also produced. Made in the USA ~circa 1930s. Please refer to pictures as they are of the actual item. These cast iron pieces have been carefully restored by stripping them down to bare metal by natural means. No sand blasting, wire wheels, or any other such equipment is ever on any of my restorations, so as to respect the original craftsmanship and historical character of the iron's surface. As such, natural irregularities in the iron's surface will be present, which can include casting flaws, pitting, or utensil nicks. Please refer to pictures for details specific to each piece. Each piece of cookware is seasoned 3 times. Thanks for looking!
