Description: Vintage Better Homes & Gardens New Cookbook, published by Basic Books in the United States. Hardcover book with traditional pink and black checked cloth five-ring binder with index tabs. All index tabs are included. The book does not include the "introduction" page with letter from the director, nor the publication year. However, when researching this cookbook, I found it is most similar to those published between 1950 and 1960. (The coppertone appliances in the photo may date it more in the very early 1960's.) There are two white spots on the back inside cover where tape may have been removed. One of the back index pages was torn, with an old piece of yellowed cellophane tape. Other pages are clean and unmarked. The cookbook is in acceptable condition. The recipes may be a little dated, it's fun to have the same cookbook that my mom had starting out as a new wife in the 1950's. The photographs of the food and table decorations are kind of hokey, and the colors in the photos are a bit faded.
