Description: Vintage Bakelite Die ThermometerRolux brand - Made in FranceAS IS - READ DESCRIPTION A vintage small desktop dice thermometer. The die is made of a deep butterscotch color Bakelite with black painted pips. The dial of the Fahrenheit thermometer features the "Rolux" name and is marked "Made in France." The die does test positive for Bakelite (see photo with swab). SIZE: The die measures 1.5" square and weighs 63 gramsCONDITION: The thermometer has a large crack to the plastic domed front (see photos). There is also a very small dent to the metal rim that keeps the plastic front in place. The thermometer itself does work and appears to register an accurate temperature (at least within a few degrees). The Bakelite die has no chips or cracks, but does show some mild surface scratching from handling and resting on surfaces...specifically to the bottom. The bottom side is also a slightly different color than the rest of the die - simply because it wasn't exposed to light/air as this side rested on a surface.
