We used an original 1967 Gibson SG Special guard as a template. And it looks authentic, the cream layers look like the faded white of 50+ yr old celluloid. I must say it's pretty badass. And new screws come with it, but you should probably use your original ones. This wont fit any other model, brand or year. If you have any compatibility questions just ask.
