Description: ***********The PUW 1361 automatic movement keeps accurate time over its approximate 28 hour power reserve period. When winding the crown it doesn't feel like the stem (no friction) but the seconds hand fires up immediately. Given the movement's relatively weak power reserve and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.***********This seldom seen vintage 1960's Belair Seapearl 600, which came from the estate of its original owner, has a glossy black "T" signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows some difficult to see wear. The lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The black fat font bezel, which shows wear and rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents nicely with the marbled butterscotch lume pip complementing the dial and patina beautifully. The stainless steel case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation. The outside of the case back is stamped "ALL STAINLESS STEEL AUTO MATIC SKIN DIVER" with "TESTED 20 ATM" followed by "1554" stamped in the center. The inside of the case back is stamped "BELAIR WATCH CORP." and "FRANCE." The crystal shows chipping, scratching and dust/debris on its underbelly. The 25 jewels "B" and "PATENTED" stamped PUW 1361 automatic movement with semi-quickset date function keeps accurate time with the date wheel rolling over at 12 am. The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 20.5 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the sharply threaded non-screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement had an approximate 28 hour power reserve period. Although the crown winds buttery smooth it doesn't feel like the stem engages the movement (no friction). However, the seconds hand fires up immediately when the crown is being wound. Given the movement's relatively weak power reserve and considering its unknown service history (there is a lone undecipherable watchmaker service marking on the inside of the case back) a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 40.5 mm including the crown and approximately 19 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm.Given the movement's relatively weak power reserve and considering its unknown service history a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.
