Description: Vintage 1940's Gouache Print Signed 'Kermover' (Fred Zeller) Art Deco, Paris The artist Frederic Zeller signed much of his work 'Kermover', some of it is signed 'Fred Zeller Dit Kermover', with "Dit" meaning, 'known as' or 'called'. He created in a classic Art Deco style and this is my favorite of the ones I found on line. It's a Deco classic. The composition of this particular piece is far superior to the others he did in this stencil style. The figures in such bold colors in the foreground make this one special. The reason for Zeller selling under an alias could be due to his politics as he was a militant 'Troskyite' who joined the French Resistance as soon as the war began. He survived all of that, living until 1975 and produced some beautiful art, none of it in this style. flatart
