Description: University of North Dakota, Grand Forks, ND 1910-1967 This vintage tile commemorates the Association of Rebakah Assemblies, also known as the Daughters of Rebekah, an international service-oriented organization. It was initially intended as the female auxiliary of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. This medallion has matte rust glazing with a large "R" and the chain symbol circled by a raised border. Signed: Made at Grand Forks of North Dakota Clay Ass'n. of Rebekan Assemblies. It measures 3 5/8" wide x 3/8" thick. Excellent condition. A tile like this (different glaze color) can be seen in Norman Karlson's first book: American Art Tile 1876-1941. This comes from his collection.
