Description: UKRAINE - 2017 MNH ARCHIP KUINDZHI - AFTER THE STORM PAINTING SHEET - u30 UKRAINE - 2017 MNH ARCHIP KUINDZHI - AFTER THE STORM PAINTING SHEET - u30 Click image to enlarge Description The sheet has perforation separations extending half way up the sheet between the margin and the first colum of stamps. All the sheets of this variety were received this way directly from Ukrposhta and it would appear that their operator was using too much pressure on the perforation die. I was wondering how I could help the Ukrainian war effort. Sending money to charities was a possibility, but I wanted to participate in the actual war effort. Then it dawned on me that I could sell Ukrainian Postage stamps on EBAY, purchased directly from the Ukrainian Postal Service. The funds received would go directly to the Government of Ukraine for use as they deemed most appropriate. I will maintain a separate spreadsheet for all the Ukrainian stamps I sell and assure you that all profit will go into purchasing additional stamps from the Ukrainian Postal Service. So far, we provided the Government of Ukraine with $10,074.55 for their effort. I have recently added refrigerator magnets and coffee cups to my store. The assistance of my past and future customers in helping me with this effort is greatly appreciated. Please tell your relatives, friends, and coworkers of my listings. Again, all profit on the Ukrainian stamps I sell will go straight to the Ukrainian Postal Service for use by the Government of Ukraine as they see fit. The sheet is described as follows on the Ukrposhtra web site: Arkhip Kuindzhi (1842-1910) is a Ukrainian landscape painter and teacher of Greek origin, born in Mariupol in the family of a shoemaker. A. Kuindzhi created unique landscapes, was an active participant in many exhibitions, including European ones (London, Paris). His works were always successful. The most famous: "Night in Ukraine", "Birch Grove", "Moonlit Night on the Dnieper". Arkhip Kuindzhi's landscape "After the Thunderstorm" (1879, cardboard, oil, 10x16 cm) is a variant of the work of the same name stored in the State Tretyakov Gallery) and was exhibited in 1879 as part of a kind of "trilogy" (together with "North" and "Birch grove"). This real pearl of the landscape genre was reproduced on a postage stamp, which once again demonstrated the originality, unique inimitability of the painter's talent. The work is kept in the Sumy Art Museum, which bears the name of its founder - N. H. Onatskyi. The museum has several more works by the unique master Kuindzhi and works by many other famous domestic and foreign artists of the 17th - beginning of the 17th century. 21st century Pictures sell!
