Description: Circa 1940s standard size black & white postcard shows the real von Trapp Family Singers, with conductor Father Franz Wasner at the piano. The Austrian Roman Catholic priest was the director of the Singers, as well as being a missionary. The family is shown with their instruments. Maria, the stepmother of the children, wrote their story, which inspired the 1959 Broadway musical and later the film version of The Sound of Music. In the 1940s the family moved to Stowe, Vermont and ran a music camp when not touring. Unused; excellent condition.
