Peter Kleist returns to his ancestral home determined to uncover the mystery of Baron Blood, a fiendish man who once owned the castle. Upon his arrival he is met by Eva Arnold, an architectural student working on the castle's renovation. Peter is immediately attracted to Eva and reveals to her that he has an incantation rumored to have the power to bring the Baron back from the grave. Eva and Peter chance the incantation, which unknown to them, proves effective. The Baron, raised from the grave, immediately embarks on a bloody rampage. Realizing what they have done, Peter and Eva consult an expert in the occult who invokes the spirit of the witch. The witch declares that the evil Baron can only be destroyed by one of his victims. The spirits of the victims now subject to the Baron to all the tortures they had suffered.
