Description: This auction is for 1.5+ ounces of Tom's Pine Tar Mix in a sealed PET plastic container with a screw on lid. From the maker of Tom’s 1/3 Mix comes a Pine Tar mix for use on your rifle stocks. This mix, made from Ausons Swedish Pine Tar and is similar in nature to what the Finnish Army used to waterproof their rifle stocks during the Winter War(s) with Russia. The picture is of a Finnish M39 Stock that is made of Artic Birch. The Pine Tar mix brings out all that beautiful marbling in the wood. The pictures of the wood samples used for test purposes are Birch, Teak, Cherry, and Curly Maple. The mix was applied at 71 degrees F and wiped off approximately 30 minutes later. Normally it is recommended to leave Pine Tar on a stock for a bit longer, but this is a good example of what you can expect when using it on your stock. Of course two applications are better than one. Feel free to do an internet search for "Tom's 1/3 Mix" or "Tom's Pine Tar Mix" to read ALL the wonderful reviews.
