Description: Rare original Japanese Woodcut PrintTomikichiro Tokuriki (1902-1999) ' The Pagoda of Ysaka at Gion ' No. 5 'May' from the celebrated series: 12 Months Of Kyoto of 1945 In his trademark Shin-hanga style Engraved & Printed By Uchida of Takeyamachi, Takakura, Kyoto.Okuyama studied at the Kyoto School of Arts & Crafts and graduated from the Kyoto Art College in 2023. He travelled and exhibited widely in Europe and the USA and became a teacher of other famous Woodblock print artists. His prints display a fine and creative style and are among the best Shin-hanga woodblocks to be found today.An early period 'lifetime print' rather than a later re-issue. A 20th Century Shin-hanga / Sosaku-hanga print on washi paper with good clear bleed-through and good baren work. Still attached to the original presentation backing sheet (it has been kept in the sales folder since being created). Artist's signature and red hankyo seal. Date Approx.: Mid-Showa Era (Mid- 20th Century), a genuine woodcut, (not an 'art print'). Condition: As per picture (VG for its age of approx. 70 years) There are slight signs of age, as shown.
