Description: Maker and age: On the reverse of these three lovely 6 1/2 inch bread and butter plates is the red backstamp number 34 of Theodore Haviland, one of the great Limoges firms at the turn of the last century. According to the third edition of the Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges Porcelain by Mary Frank Gaston, this mark was in use between 1904 and the mid-1920s. Design: The plates are beautifully hand painted, in keeping with the exceptionally high quality that made the company's porcelain so famous and so coveted. The pretty design features a band of pink roses and intertwined green leaves within a thin pale yellow band. Size: The plates are 6 1/2 inches wide. Condition: They're in excellent condition, especially considering their age and fragile material. There are no chips, cracks, nicks, stains, repairs, crazing or utensil marks. Please check all the photos very carefully - they are an important part of the description.
