Description: Perhaps never introduced better than by Max Lerner himself, this vintage Modern Library copy of the works of Niccolo Machiavelli stands out both with its vibrant red dust jacket, but also because it, of course, features the notorious Machiavelli! The interior of the book, and the body of the text, is absolutely pristine, and the hardcover and dust jacket, while showing their age, stand up beautifully. The dust jacket has some sunning damage, as one can tell looking at the edges where it has darkened, and it also has some chips, mostly of not on the back cover (see photos, please). Some fading along the spine, but the color and the text still stand out beautifully, as does the torch-bearer emblem of Modern Library. Inside, you can see the edge of the sunning damage, namely where the darkening stops, leaving the rest of the inside jacket untouched. Price is not clipped. This is just such an aesthetic piece to add to the collection, or maybe the first of many to bolster the library of the concious reader, the controversial learner, or the philisophical jack of all trades.
