Description: I am a retired priest/professor and I am looking for a good home for many of the books that I have collected over the years. Because the book is a terrible thing to waste… According to the jacket, blurb, the author states his primary concern has been to use the beatitudes as a starting point for reflection on what it means to be followers of Jesus Christ. in its insight, the author offers an almost uncanny ability to transform even the most familiar gospel passages into splendent new life. Evidently the author was a well-known radio, television, broadcaster, an Anglican priest. This is another one of the books that was part of the Episcopal book club back in the 70s and 80s. The book isn’t like new condition with no writing inside except for a couple of names on the flyleaf inside the front cover. It’s a hard cover book with a dust jacket. However, the dust jacket does show signs of wear and tear from being on shelves moved all these years. It seems like a very interesting book to me because of all of the eclectic range of quotes, examples, and anecdotes drawn from various places from Agatha Christie, to C S Lewis, Emily, Dickinson, Plato, and the ancient church fathers. You get all of that for 10 bucks in this deal. Enjoy.
