Description: This is the Original (1sh) 1954 Complete Lobby Card Set of TARGET EARTH. They were used by Allied Artists to promote this movie when it was released in 1954. They are not reprints nor reproductions. The movie stars Richard Denning, Kathleen Crowley, Virginia Grey, Richard Reeves, Mort Marshall, Robert Roark, Arthur Space, and Whit Bissell. It was directed by Sherman A. RoseThese unrestored movie Lobby Cards each measure 11" x 14". They are Flat and are on medium stock paper. There are eight (8) Lobby Cards. However, on this original, complete set of Lobby Cards there is no Title Lobby Card. Usually a complete, original set of Lobby Cards includes 1 Title Lobby Card (which resembles the One Sheet in its image) and 7 other Lobby Cards which depict scenes from the movie. In the case of the complete, original Lobby Car set of TARGET EARTH, there is no Title Lobby Card, and all 8 Lobby Cards depict scenes from the movie. I attempted - not sure I succeeded - to place the Lobby Cards from bottom to top and photographed them one by one in the order that these scenes appear in the movie. In addition, complete, original Lobby Cars are normally numbered 1 through 8. These complete, original Lobby Cards of TARGET EARTH do not have any Lobby Card numbers 1 through 8 on them. Finally, the National Screen Service (NSS) sequence number on the 8 Lobby cards - 54/445 - appears at the bottom left corner of each Lobby Card. Normally, this NSS sequence number appears at the bottom right corner of each Lobby Card in the set. Sometimes this happens and we do not know the reason or reasons for these differences. But if you check out other complete, original Lobby Card sets of TARGET EARTH you should see the same conditions. For the record, the NSS number - 54/445 -indicates that the movie TARGET EARTH was released in the year 1954, and that it was the 445 movie released that year including the release by NSS of the associated original Lobby Cards, One Sheets, etc. If you have any questions, just let me know.Continuation of Condition DescriptionThe LC with the Robot has 2 tiny pin holes on the right border near center. The LC with the woman running has very faint blue marks/run-off at the bottom border on the left under "Country Of Origin". The LC with a man pushed up against a wall has small blackish marks on the right border near the top. The reverses of all 8 LCs are clean with some color showing thru to the reverse from the front. All 8 LCs have excellent color (no toning), with superior detail of the images on pristine main backgrounds. This original, complete Lobby Card set is graded C8.5, Very Fine to Near Mint. Original movie Lobby Cards are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), C4 (Good), etc. These Lobby Cards are immediately ready for framing and display. The minor flaws that exist are along the borders of the Lobby Cards and are not obtrusive, i.e. they are not readily noticeable. And although there are a number of minor flaws - mostly pin holes - along the borders - the main images are pristine with no flaws that we were able to find. The pristine condition of all of the 8 main images is what drove the condition/grade to C8.5. That said, we try to give you as much information in photos (we post the maximum number of photos allowed by eBay - 12) and descriptive information so that you can come to your own conclusion as to the grade or condition of these original Lobby Cards. Professional framing of the Lobby Cards could help to alleviate, to some degree, these minor border issues. Finding such a high grade (C8.5) of these TARGET EARTH (1954) Lobby Cards, in almost their original condition when issued, since they are not restored, is a rare occurrence. We believe that the original, complete 1954 Lobby Card set of TARGET EARTH has very good value and investment value.
