Wilkenson provided equipment for Federal forces primarily in the east. One of the first to produce as a contractor, Ordnance inspections permitted the Federal supply system to catch up and provided much needed equipment to the Federal soldier. This specimen is copied from an original, belt straps are riveted and sewn, pointed brass finial, and the MAKER stamp on the lunette flap, A.D. Laidley inspector stamp on outer flap, as per the originals. If you are looking for machine stitched, cheap, imported copies, keep looking, such is not here! This item is produced of American made materials and sewn in a one man, veteran owned shop, hand cut from patterns taken from an original, hand dyed and hand sewn as the originals.
