Comes with the cover sheet and the wood engraving print taken from "Paradise Lost" book from 1846. Satan, wounded in a bitter single combat with the Archangel Michael, falls to the ground (Book 6, lines 327-8). Wood engraving after Gustave Doré for John Milton's 'Paradise Lost.' In nice antique condition for its age (176 years) Some tears around the edges, and a curled edge corner, that will flatten when if you lay a book on it or frame it. Would look great if both pages were framed and hung up next to each other. One of the most talked about illustrations in the book Paradise Lost, is of Gustave Dore's "Satan Wounded".
