Description: This antique red and white quilt is made of 49, 8 inch squares, separated by very small and neat feather stitched embroiderery. All of the squares have five red embroidered interlocking rings, except for the four corners. There is a wreath surrounding the date 1894 and the maker’s initials BBS, which are embellished with bows. The bottom two corner squares have an elaborate bird in one and an oriental looking teapot in the other. Wide framing is quilted in a 6 strand cable pattern. There is expert quilting around each embroidered circle. Binding is narrow, hand-hemmed, with no wear. There are 2 small mends in the frame, a one inch pale spot on the white backing — quite insignificant and not very noticable. Quilting is really tiny — 9 stitches to the inch (counting on one side). This unusual quilt is thin, crisp, clean. Measures 71” x 70”. Happy to answer questions or send more pictures. Will ship internationally at cost. _gsrx_vers_1120 (GS 8.0.5 (1120))
