Description: For your consideration, Dr4 Watches has on offer an outstanding and exceptionally rare reference Roger Dubuis Excalibur full black titanium with Diamond Like Coating (DLC) man's sporting timepiece. This watch reference is a stand-out sport watch, very, very, very rare and an excellent "one watch" contender for a knowledgeable watch buyer. This black with red accents reference is menacingly beautiful. While it is a large watch at 45mm it wears much smaller due to the lug-to-lug distance, excellent rubber strap and deployant clasp and monocrome dark color of dial, case, strap and clasp. Black is always flattering, timeless, sporting and "bad boy."Note that Roger Dubuis watches (of all references and variations) are among the most heavily non-authentic "copy timepiece" targets. That is a reality for these types of references which makes buying from a reputable buyer a key consideration. This will pass through eBay's Authenticity Guarantee and I bought this from a reputable retailer as well. Admire and then buy with confidence. A retail valuation reporting, from the retailer, showing an estimated retail value of more than $15,000 will be included with this fine timepiece.Of course we are bringing the best value on the internet because we tirelessly source our inventory and inspect very closely upon receipt for quality and authenticity. We are extremely thorough in our listings and we still absolutely encourage questions regarding the timepieces. If you have questions regarding the specifications, provenance, history, etc., no problem. Just ask if you have a question! We only deal in 100% real watches because reputation is critical for us and in this industry in particular. We always have the inventory in our possession. We do not do the broker thing. The condition of this watch is as follows: Outstanding. Because we only want timepiece customers who are delighted with their purchase, we strive to add some additional insight to help you make a great timepiece decision. With that in mind, some additional considerations about this watch include: 1. This watch is large at 45mm and works well on most medium to large male wrists. It brings a modern sporting look and I can recommend this watch for somebody with a wrist size of 6+3/4 inches in circumference and larger. This one has a lot of wrist presence as it is uber-black cool. Very, very rockstar, bouncer, club owner, playboy or F1 driver kind of vibe. This one definitely looks the business on a fancy yacht but not for one who likes yacht rock. Attitude, "bad boy" and a serious statement timepiece. Among watch enthusiasts, this is a grail brand and then a rare grail reference within the Roger Dubuis brand. 2. This is a fantastic "one watch" as it goes with everything and can handle a variety of duties, especially for a more casually and action oriented individual. I would note that this is not a dive watch but rather one more suitable for action pursuits in a boat or on terra firma. 3. The watch is comfortable on the very impressive rubber strap. The current strap can handle up to about a 7+3/4 inch wrist. I also consider this a great "beater watch" for somebody who is wealthy but who also wants to bring some style to their outfit and loves a modern sporting kind of look. It is luxury but also durable and ready for action. 4. Highlights on this one includes the gorgeous black dial, bold clear "exploding" Roman Numeral indices that add that "Sporting Luxury" vibe and the exhibition caseback which shows off the wicked black rotor and well respected Roger Dubuis manufacture automatic movement. Keeping the focus on the back one sees blackened screws, rubies, Cote-de-Geneve finishing and a wonderful automatic movement. This is one of the silkiest automatic movements that I have come across and you really feel that feature on the wrist and if you decide to manually wind it. None of that clunky rotor wobble or base Swiss Valjoux or ETA feel... this one is refined like one would expect from a Geneve based, Swiss haute-horology manufacturer for the rich. 5. The color date wheel is done right down low and framed and adds that nice functionality or "complication" to this beauty. Overall the Roman numeral indices and hands make this a very readable timepiece in all light conditions. Nice lume keeps the visibility going when transitioning to a darker environment. 6. While all Roger Dubuis watches are cool, expensive and rare... there is a hiearchy. Excallibur --- named by Roger Dubuis in celebration of the famous King Arthur sword --- is the elevated sport timepieces in the Roger Dubuis catalog of references. And then within that catalog the small seconds at six o'clock commands a premium in the market. Finally, a Titanium DLC reference in black again elevates the market value due to enhanced durability and exclusivity. 7. The bezel is interesting and striking. Also, this watch features a cool kind of tire tread (Pirelli?) pattern under the strap. This timepiece was the pre-cursor to the heavily branded Roger Dubuis and Lamborghini collaboration. Much of that line the following year was an expansion from these Excalibur references. 8. This one comes with a Roger Dubuis box and booklets/paperwork as pictured in the "everything picture" (picture #2) as well. You get an awesome watch with box and paperwork and a very large discount off of the $16K plus (out the door price) you would have paid... if you could have found one and then be invited... or allowed... to buy one. Words like "Haute Horology" get thrown around a lot but it is generally considered the highest level of watchmaking. Certain brands live in that space and certain models and specific references claim the phrase for a given watch. I would submit that one consideration of this admittedly subjective adjective for Roger Dubuis is that they are the only manufacturer that can claim that Roger Dubuis' entire production line of watches can bear the Geneva Seal. Unlike every other Swiss fancy brand, Roger Dubuis occupies and lives in the realm of Haute Horology. There is an interesting "Trading Desk" "This is or That" 1916 Company about 5 years ago that compared a similar Excalibur (in a less flattering colorway) to a Vacheron. Jason and John debate the merits of the two timepieces although to me the watches offer very different purposes with the Vacheron aimed toward business or elegant situations. We do not offer a warranty but will work with you to make any post-purchase repairs via advice on where to go and what to do (with no profit for us but paid for by you). Everything we sell is working fine for all functions when it leaves our facility (or more specifically the safe deposit box where our watches reside). In some cases, we can go back to our source and get the watch repaired for free based on our relationship and reputation. We should always be the first port-of-call if there is an issue. 100% delighted customers so far and we aim to keep it that way. Please examine the pictures, what you see is what you get. The only exceptions are the black case that we photoraph on and the English Bull Dog which we put in our group shots because we think it looks great. The Bull Dog is a James Bond tie-in and we kind of really like James Bond. And finally, we are an Atlanta based business but we also operate out of North Florida (some inventory in both places) as I like to include my brother in the business some. Thank you for your consideration, Steve
