Description: Up for sale is a lovely Art Deco Style, Reproduction Poster Print originally printed on November 1911 for the Vogue Magazine Cover. This poster is a modern print, printed on poster board by a _____ Press Inc. New York, NY with a 5-digit zip code. The first word in front of the Press Inc. is indistinguishable. Since this printer has a zip code, that means it was probably printed sometime after the early 1960's. The illustrator George Wolfe Plank, featured a woman riding a white peacock. The illustration depicts the woman elegantly perched sidesaddle, (without a saddle,) atop the majestic bird, wearing a long black dress adorned with gold embroidery around the waist and delicate flowers trailing down the train. Her ensemble is crowned by a rose-colored turban, complete with a long, slender plume. The peacock wears a white feather crown and a black choker with a pearl drop earring. The woman is holding a hand mirror for the peacock to admire itself in. The Vogue magazine was owned by Conde' Montrose Nast, a pioneering figure in the world of mass media, founded in 1909. This poster is 18" wide by 24" tall.Printed at the top of the print is: "The Fine Arts That Produce The Fashionable Beauty of Today." And printed at the bottom is: November 15, 1911 The Vogue Co. Conde' Nast. Pres. Price 24 CTS." Under this line there is a second line that is cut in half, which I discussed at the beginning of the description. The title VOGUE is printed in a rose color above the peacock's head. The illustrator's initials, GWP are also printed in rose near the lower left corner. The pebbled surface may represent the surface of the moon. Buyer pays for ground advantage. This is only for the poster board print. I'll ship it sandwiched between two pieces of stiff cardboard.
