New York Antique Royal Doulton Gold Encrusted PlateUp for sale is an antique Tiffany & Company New York gold encrusted luncheon or large salad plate by Royal Doulton.It measures 9" in diameter with a shaped rim and a wide band of elaborate Art Nouveau raised paste gold circling a bright white well.The back is stamped in fuchsia with the Royal Doulton Lion-and-Crown logo in use from 1902 -1922. Also stamped: Tiffany & Company New York Hand painted: L.HB 6552 over the number C4384.HB indicates this exquisite pattern was designed (and likely painted) by Herbert Betteley, a designer and artist for Doulton from 1886 to about 1930.Condition Note: there is a rim hairline visible primarily from the backside; see photos.
