Description: This design was first used by the WW2 Seabee battalions attached to US Marine Regiments. This example measures approximately 1 1/4” high. It is marked on the reverse “MA CO ROCH NY” (for MetalArts Co. Rochester NY). There is no known evidence that the cap badge was an authorized design. There is a scan of a reference page in this posting. Moderate wear and surface dirt. Verdigris in the recesses on the front and in the hollows on the reverse. The roller catch is missing the roller and is bent. The pin is slightly bent and the point is bent. Still holds without the roller catch. You are buying the material pictured.
