Description: RARE, EXCELLENT WWII DETROIT GASKET M3 BAYONET SCABBARD. Most of the M3 bayonet scabbards - i.e., scabbards that held either M1905 or M1942 long bayonets - were made for the U. S. military by the Beckwith Manufacturing Company. However a very few were made by the Detroit Gasket Company, making them very rare. They can be distinguished from the Beckwith M3's by the elongated, sideways "S" stamped on the bottom front of their metal throats. This is one of those rare, Detroit Gasket M3 scabbards and, as shown by the photos, it is in excellent condition. As you will notice, it has my inventory sticker on the back of the throat, but I will remove that before shipping it to you. If you have any questions, please ask before buying or making an offer.
