Description: This Columbian Howe Coachmakers and Body makers Bench Vise has 4 1/2" wide jaws that extend a whopping 11". It is in great condition with only a pencil size hole on the lead screw cover part being the only damage that I can find. Fully extends 11" wide with ease and closes with the jaws flush to each other. There are some casting defects that I assume come from there process long ago but otherwise this vise is in remarkable condition for its age. I wiped it down with a light oil to keep the castings from surface rust. I am assuming someone removed the original finish at some point. I found this model online in an old Columbian Howe catalog and added a screenshot to the pictures. I am assuming that this model is much older to the one in the catalog since it has the older casted Logos and does not have jaw inserts. This one weighs 48lbs unpacked not the 58lbs this catalog excerpt states. The pictures show the details. Thanks for looking.
