Description: Extremely Rare 1963 - 1965 KC A's Game Used Game Worn Dark Green Baseball Cap Hat Kansas City Athletics Made in USA by New Era Size 7-3/4 Flag Tag (worn, but I think it's 7-3/4)Sewn-On New Era TagLeather Sweat BandGreen Silk / Nylon Under Visor100% Wool Shell The photos you see are the EXACT cap you are buying, sold as vintage, used with wear, EXACTLY AS SHOWN. There's a remarkable site called MLBcollectors. It is my go-to site for caps and uniforms. They have more photos and more information than you could ever imagine. They say, "New Era / Wilson caps seem to be from 1963-65" and "are a bit darker green". THIS IS A DARKER GREEN. They say the caps " were bought blank and logos added by a local embroidery shop." "Thus KC A's caps have no Wilson date code." There's no mention of the underside of the visor being a silk like material, but there's also no photo of a green New Era KC A's cap either. The site is amazing, not perfect. Buy this great rarity based on your own comfort level, and the photos you see. I've been in the hobby as a memorabilia dealer since 1979 but nobody knows it all. I do know this. It's rare and it displays like a million bucks! Some terrific player wore green for the A's in the 1963 era. I don't know which one. This cap has no player name or number on it but a few KC A's player from then were... Bert Campaneris, Ken Harrelson, Jim "Catfish" Hunter, Rocky Colavito, and of course Satchel Paige, who pitched 3 shut-out innings at the age of 59! Just for good luck, let me add the HOF coaches Luke Appling and Whitey Herzog! Any questions???Please don't hesitate to ask!!!
