Spine has five raised bands and a gilt lettered red leather label. All edges speckled. Octavo, xv, 468 pp. William Peterfield Trent, LL.D., D.C.L. (November 1862 – December 1939) was an American academic and the author/editor of many books. He was a professor of English literature at Sewanee: The University of the South and Columbia University. While at Sewanee, he founded the Sewanee Review in 1892, a literary journal that continues to operate. The book is in VERY GOOD antiquarian condition. Square spine with firm hinges and joints. Leather is quite dry, a bit of dry rot. Rubbing to boards, spine and extremities. Darkened areas on endpapers. Interior pages are quite clean and bright white with a few smudges.
