Description: Mid 1900s POLORON COLORAMIC CHRISTMAS TREE STAND NO. 398 steel tree holders with colorful lithographed Christmas themed graphics and the water reservoir to preserve the tree were popular during the 1950s19.7" diameter, 5" tall, fits up to 4" trunk, ~1 gallon capacity ours has wonderful graphics and colors but a yellow colored substance is hardened in several spots; we tried to remove it with water but without success and recommend doing nothing since it is largely unnoticed when used as a tree stand; floor contact area has some paint loss and solid red paint areas have some scuffs or mini chips; possible discoloration in the tree cone holder area and underside provenance: our personal collection of antique Christmas items for musuem exhibitquestions welcomed and quickly answered
