Description: Pocatello Idaho c. 1920's Manhattan Café racist Advertising Hotel Whitman promo (Americana, Vintage Advertising, Idaho, Pocatello, Travel, Tourism, Advertising Leaflet, Hotel Whitman, Travel Distances). Manhattan Café. Published c. 1920's, Pocatello, Idaho by McVicar Printing. Folding leaflet. Text in English. Pictorial advertising rear cover. Of historical interest for the blatantly racist statement on the front cover that the restaurant only employs "All White Help", which we assume means no Native American or indigenous local people since African Americans were likely almost non-existent in this fairly remote western location around this time (?). Item is old and shows some signs of handling and time. Item is not new or in "new" condition. Paper gently age worn, slight rubbing, remains overall clean and attractive as a fragile survival. Paper is lightly toned, signs of handling, small scattered spotting, internally still well preserved, tight, sound. Still attractive on the shelf. The scarce pamphlet displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws easy to overlook or forgive. Please review photos for more detail and our best attempt to convey how this item survives. Covers measures c. 4" H x 2"W. [B6896].
