Description: Picturesque Washington, Reproduction of Engraving, 1872, Hand Colored & Signed Here is what I believe to be a reproduction of an engraving from 1872. It depicts public buildings in Washington D.C., including the Capitol, Treasury, City Hall, Smithsonian, and Agriculture. It has been professionally hand-colored and is signed in pencil by the colorist. The artist is John Filmer. The full print measures 12 x 9¼ inches. The condition is excellent, which is one reason that I believe it to be a reproduction. It certainly looks original and authentic, but that is unlikely. The colors are great, and the detail is impressive. The back is blank and has a small rough area where some adhesive was removed. Once framed, it would appear “genuine.” I am not a dealer, and I do not remember when or where I got this print. It will be shipped flat and well-protected. I have one other such Washington, D.C. print up on Ebay. Please message me with any questions or need for more photos. I keep shipping expenses as low as I can, pack carefully, and ship promptly.
