Description: Beautiful 6x6 Sailboat Tile by Pewabic Pottery in Detroit. Artist is senior designer Dave McGee and was created as a nod to Michigan's lakes and waterways and Detroit's beautiful riverfront.Pewabic tiles are highly sought after and beautifully made. The tile is deep relief with rope and a nautical knot framing the sailboat. This tile is discontinued and no longer available from the studio. A wonderful find. Pewabic's glazes are all hand applied and will therefore have irregularities in the pieces. These are not defects, the glaze on the deep relief of this tile gathers more in some areas, please review photos well. This glaze appears to be the Peacock color. Condition is excellent. No flaws. Marked Pewabic Detroit 2009 on the back. Also has a hanging notch. Gorgeous on display, framed or inserted into a tile project. Actual size is just over 5-1/2 x 5-1/2" Excellent gift.
