Description: Offering an antique H. Disston and Sons No. 16 (or D16) hand saw with a 13/16 inch "Disston PHILADA" medallion that was used between 1896-1917. It is being sold in as-found condition. Features:Length: 27 inches total, 24 inch BladeTPI: 5Rivets: 4Handle: D-16 (also call No.16) apple "let-in" handle The saw is in great shape, and the blade is straight without any teeth missing and it does not have much rusting. Looks to be in very good condition, but there are plenty of pictures for you to decide yourself. It would be a great saw to restore. According to the Disstonian Institute website, this medallion was used from 1896-1917, and this style saw was made from 1880-1928. The last picture shows a typical No.16 from that era. These are my findings, but please do your own research to confirm. The Disstonian Institue is a great resource for that. And if I have anything wrong, please let me know, as I try to do my best to correctly represent what I am selling. Fast shipping...thanks for looking!
